Lessons in Psychotherapy from the Experiences of a Therapist Who Is a Patient

Lessons in Psychotherapy from the Experiences of a Therapist Who Is a Patient

Abstract

Ive focused in my writing and editing on wholistic healing therapy, addressing body, emotions, mind, relationships (with other people and with the environment) and spirit. My focus has been on the principles and practices involved, and especially on research confirming various aspects of wholistic healing. In this editorial I focus on my personal experiences of using these therapiesmyself to deal with my challenges in dealing with pneumonia, cancer of my larynx, laryngectomy, and a prostatectomy for benign prostatic hypertrophy. I offer a light review of wholistic healing and detailed descriptions of the various ways in which wholistic healing proved valuable in my recuperation from these problems.

Key words: wholistic healing, laryngeal cancer, laryngectomy, prostatectomy, pneumonia
